My Story

From the Boardroom to the Classroom

I spent years working in corporate environments — across insurance, claims management, and financial services. I sat in the meetings, delivered the presentations, managed the stakeholders, and navigated the unwritten rules of professional communication that nobody puts in a textbook.

What struck me, again and again, was how much language held people back. Brilliant, capable professionals — staying silent in meetings, underselling themselves in interviews, second-guessing every email — not because of their ability, but because they didn’t have the right words at the right moment.

That’s why I became a teacher. I wanted to give professionals exactly what I’d seen them missing — not grammar exercises, but the real language of real workplaces. Phrases that work. Structures that stick. Confidence that carries over from the lesson into the room.

I’m also bilingual in English and Spanish — which means I understand the experience of learning a second language from the inside. I know what it feels like to search for a word that isn’t coming, to understand everything but hesitate before speaking. That empathy is in every lesson I teach.
